Shop Update: Linen Dish Towels

Fresh off the sewing machine: new dish towels for sale in the shop!

This over-sized linen dish/tea towel is ready to lend you a hand in the kitchen.

A ribbon is sewn into the hem so it can be hung from a hook.

The entire towel is printed with inky-lined plaid pattern in red, navy, periwinkle and cream.

The print reminds me of a house we used to stay in on Cape Cod. The entire bottom floor was red/white & blue and probably hadn't been touched since the 1960's.

Towel measurement approximately: 20" x 30"
100% cotton linen

Machine wash cold & dryer safe. The towel will become softer and more absorbent after a few uses.

New Pillows Added!

I just added two new colors to the honeysuckle pillow collection on wickedmint.etsy.com.

Many thanks to my mom who patiently sat in the room with me and watched Sex and the City while I sewed this weekend.

A Rainbow of Pillows

I stayed in last night so I could prepare and finally post all these pillows on ETSY. They have been sitting in my office since the Renegade Craft Fair. I pulled out all the furniture in the living room so I could host the photo shoot...in my newly reupholtered chair (more photos on that later once I refinish the legs)!

The extra bonus was that our living room got a really good cleaning - who knows how all those Mike & Ike boxes got under the sofa - I think the Paws fur tumbleweeds get the late-night munchies.

The Renegade Craft Fair is on June 6 & 7 and I am scrambling to get things in order. I ordered more buttons for my Crazy Cat Pack and added a new cat in the mix.

Meet "Just Hang In There":

I also made a new non-cat button - Greenpoint/Williamsburg represent!

More Tees Please

I am a t-shirt printing machine. I wonder if Paws will sue me for using his likeness...good thing he is too busy crying for more food to notice.

I dread having to stamping the labels. So not fun.

It's close quarters up in this piece.

NEW Pillows!

So last night I mastered the art of making pillow covers with a hidden zipper. It was surprisingly easy when I used these instructions from House on Hill Road. Now I just need to start cranking them out in time for the winter holidays.

I screen printed my Birds on the Wire image on the front of the pillow - I think I'm going to try putting Paws on them too. This one was done in all red, but next time I'm going to use a patterned fabric for the backside and see what that looks like.

Available for purchase from my ETSY shop.

Ceramics: Faux Bois Coasters

These new ceramic faux bois coasters are hot out of the kiln!

Each one has a diameter of about 3.5". They were painted with engobe, carved, fired in the kiln, and then glazed with a clear, matte glaze. The bottoms are covered in felt so that your table or desk top will be extra protected.

Each set is made up of 4 coasters in varying brown hues. All coasters are handmade and therefore is completely unique.

Will be available on ETSY later today...

Renegade Craft Fair : Chicago!

This week has been nuts-o for me (and Abe) as I am getting ready for the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago!

There is soooooo much to do to prepare the booth. I am also having a major malfunction with my car and need to replace the transmission, so the week has involved dealing with that pain and also finding an affordable rental car. I think I got a good deal on a Prius - which is very exciting. With my calculations what I will save on gas will pay for the rental. ... Let's just hope that all works out. I don't trust rental places until I have returned the car and have not been charged any hidden fees.

Anyway - here's my deal on the craft fair:

Hi there!

Chicago's 6th Annual RENEGADE CRAFT FAIR is almost here!! This year's
event is the biggest yet, featuring 250 booths and over 300 artists!

Come out September 13 + 14 to see these amazing talents from Noon -
10pm each day. We'll be setting-up shop along Division St. between
Damen & Hermitage in Wicker Park!

PLUS we've added LIVE MUSIC to this year's festivities! Check out the
Line-up:

This event is FREE to attend!

I'll be at booth #233. Hope you see you there if you're in the area!

My Friend the Model

On Saturday my friend, Margot, was kind enough to lend her modeling skills so I could take some photos of some of my bags. Doesn't she look awesome!? Margot is a fantastic model because not only is she beautiful, but she also has an amazing wardrobe and knows how to put together an outfit.

It was a quick shoot - we just went to a few places right around my apartment in Greenpoint.

MeeeeeOwwwwwww

Yesterday my friend called me up at work and asked if I could play for his softball team because they lost their girl player and didn't want to forfeit their play-off game. It was good practice for me because this is a scrappier league, but I pulled my quad muscle when I was running to first base. I could barely get out of the car when we got back to Greenpoint, but I took 3 Tylenol pills, drank a 16 oz Żywiec, and woke up this morning as good as new!

In other news....CAT ATTACK! Paws is trying to be the new OBEY and made me make these new tote bags with his likeness. Everyone loves a cat - perfect for the hipster or crazy lady in your life.

Renegade Craft Fair :: Brooklyn

This just in! There was a cancellation at this weekend's Renegade Craft Fair and I got picked off the waiting list!

June 14 + 15 from 11am - 7pm at the McCarren Park Pool in good ol' Williamsburg.

If you're in town stop by booth #132. It won't be as hot as the last few days and it will be A LOT of fun. I'm going to put a ton of stuff on sale so it will be worth the drive-by.

XO,
Ryan

New Item: Garden Trinkets - Little Birdie

Just because your potted plants live the life of an indoor cat doesn't mean they should be deprived of the great outdoors!

This series features is called Little Birdie. Each package comes with one bird perched on a stone. Place this little guy in a potted plant, or on a shelf among many potted plants. Just make sure you keep the bugger indoors and away from water - these birds don't like to get wet!

Each trinket is completely unique. I have a growing collection of stones found in my yard, on vacation, and even from flower arrangements sent to my office. I match together stones and birds based on their vibes. It's kind of like Millionaire Matchmaker except I'm working with inanimate objects and not rich men and blonde 20-something actress/models.

Each Little Birdie comes packaged in a re-useable box made from 100% re-used materials*. That's like re-used to the third power! Each package is crafted by hand and decorated with scrap paper and security envelopes (my new fave material). The box is secured with a button and string closure.

*note: I had to use new glue and tape for obvious reasons.

To buy one for your indoor garden go to my SUPERMARKETHQ store.
