I designed a 2010 calendar for the latest Spoonflower Fabric of the Week design contest.

It looks like a sheet of loose leaf paper. How spiffy would that look hanging up in your office? Let me tell you - with this calendar you are totally going to be in business.

If I win then it'll be for sale in the Spoonflower shop - not only that, but I'm going to be selling it (with a nice little hanger) in my Etsy shop too. I just need some validation that people love me so please vote vote vote for me me me. Thanks, luv ya!

Ok...I posted two designs up on Spoonflower and submitted the (brown/blue/pink) one into next week's contest. I personally love the brighter one (yellow/orange/red), but I think the other appeals to a wider audience...and I really want to win - this is as close as I'll ever get to American Idol. More next week when I find out if my design makes it to the finals for voting!

My First Fabric Design

I've been trying to buckle down and design some fabric patterns and I've finally completed one!

This one was inspired by my trumpet honeysuckle shrub that Abe's dad and step-mom got me at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens last year when they were visiting us. I had no choice but to leave it on the fire escape all winter and it's survival was questionable, but sure enough - it's back to blooming business!

I'll be making some final touches and uploading to Spoonflower tonight or tomorrow - then I'll be asking y'all to vote for it in their weekly contest.

I'll also be posting some downloadable desktops in the next couple days of this design.
