New Buttons Arrived

The Renegade Craft Fair is on June 6 & 7 and I am scrambling to get things in order. I ordered more buttons for my Crazy Cat Pack and added a new cat in the mix.

I also made a new non-cat button - Greenpoint/Williamsburg represent!

Memorial Day Weekend 2009

Nothing says 'Happy Birthday' like a pinata filled with condoms, lube, firecrackers, chili powder and candy.

Rooftop dance party! (above)

Abe's crutches were the life of the party (below)

Colleen is famous for her BM's (Bloody Marys people - get yer head out of the gutter).

Jester likes to hydrate with Smart Water.

Ari Turns 27

On Thursday we all headed over to Daddy's to celebrate Ari's 27th birthday.

Meredith is an amazing girlfriend and because she is an amazing girlfriend she got Ari a crack pie from Milk Bar.

Happy Birthday, Ari!!

Cheese in My Mouth, Thank You!

You know what I'm not known for? Taking pictures of food. I just want to get to the eating, damn it.

BUT - I made this amazing mac & cheese on Sunday and I highly suggest that you do the same sometime in the very near future. It has Swiss chard in it so it's kind of healthy in a really cheesy, starchy way.

You can find the recipe here at Bon Appetit's website.

Nueve de Mayo ...

I just unloaded my memory card so that I can take video of me and Colleen reacting to tonight's American Idol results show (omg!!!) and realized I had photos from last weekend I didn't post!

On Saturday our dearest lady friend, Dith, hosted a BBQ in her envy-inducing backyard. Veggie burgers were eaten, but I think I was mostly full of chocolate cookies and beer.

Look at Lauren hiding.

This is before Pete Pizza (Dith's landlord) came over and pulled the picnic table out of the basement.

Colleen keeps it cool.

Dith rocking out.

Oh, that's just Ol' Man Withers.

Nice Things I See Walking Home from Work

This is on Lexington Ave between 42nd and 41st Streets. I should know this building because I'm sure a RDM client owns it.

I love the font and flag on this shipping crate. Safmarine.

Ithaca is Gorges

This weekend I went up to Ithaca, New York for my cousin Rebecca's wedding! It was a beautiful wedding - absolutely perfect and you could really feel the love for Rebecca and Paul. Congratulations and welcome to the family, Paul!

Mother Lover

I just want to be sure everyone saw the Mother Lover skit on SNL. I've been in love with JT for like 6 years. That's a really long time for a celebrity crush.

Fishs Eddy

I don't think I've been to Fishs Eddy in about 6 years. For some reason I thought I didn't really like it - even though the Brooklyn tray Abe's aunt gave us for Christmas a couple years ago is one of my favorite items in our apartment.

Anyway, I just walked in there and I didn't want to leave! I could have spent a fortune in there and filled up 12 kitchens if I had a fortune to spend and 12 kitchens to fill!

I stayed practical and only bought 6 small ceramic tags for $2 that I can use to labels things (?), 2 small ramekins for $1 each. I also got 2 small glass storage bowls - which I actually need:

But here are the things I am coveting:

Bike New York 2009

Sunday I rode in the 5 Boro Bike Tour. It's a 42 mile bike ride through all five boroughs of NYC. This year it was raining pretty hard and I had a baby shower to go to so I stopped riding in Brooklyn.

Night of a Thousand Stevies

Honestly, there is nothing I enjoy more than putting on costumes, drinking some beer, and "playing pretend" with my friends. I am very lucky to roll with a large group of people that feel the same way.

Friday night started off at Chelsea and Sam's apartment where a group of people were prepping for Fitz' "Summer in Miami" party. It was 50 degrees and raining outside, but that did not stop them from barbequing and partying on his deck all night long.

Unfortunately, I could not participate in Miami night because I was meeting my friends for A Night of a Thousand Stevies (click the link to learn more - I can't even begin to explain). We met up at Margot's house to begin the Stevie transformation.

Photo shoots ensued and then we left the house and walked to the train - making sure to walk down Bedford Avenue to complete the spectacle.

We hopped on the L train and from 8th Avenue we walked to the Highline Ballroom. All but one of us were virgins to NOTS and we had no idea we were walking into the greatest drag show in town. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a small venue filled with women and the occasional man in drag, but us straight girls were definitely the minority!

We took the upper floor and danced the night away, but most of us left by 1am completely exhausted.

After all, we are adults with responsibilities.
